“Back to the Future” Clock — A time capsule born from our collaboration with Jéjé l’Ingé

Some collaborations do more than bring together skills: they tell a story. This story begins with a shared passion for iconic objects, cinema, and beautiful technical ideas.
Together with Jéjé l’Ingé, a designer renowned for his unique connected objects, we have brought to life a revisited version of the iconic clock from Back to the Future.

The goal? To perfectly replicate the DeLorean's time-traveling illusion, but in a modern, Wi-Fi-connected, fully functional version that's visually faithful to the spirit of the film.
At CESAM3D, we took care of the entire design, modeling and manufacturing of the case: a structure designed to accommodate the electronic modules while maintaining a credible retro-futuristic aesthetic.

But what gives the object its soul are the finishes.

Each piece was sanded, primed and then hand-painted, with multiple coats and special effects to recreate the brushed, worn metal look of 80s cinema.
We worked on nuances, shadows and shines to achieve a realistic, almost cinematic visual result, as if the object came straight out of the trunk of the DeLorean.

The project concluded with assembly, Wi-Fi synchronization tests, and final validation of an object at the crossroads of geek and craftsmanship, between technology and nostalgia.

A true gem of collaborative manufacturing, designed for those who grew up with dreams of 88 miles per hour.
